Needs Assessment
iTRANS has a comprehensive and progressive approach of communicating transportation needs and opportunities to the public. We have conducted master plan studies as the basis for environmental assessments, for clients across Ontario. Our capabilities in travel demand forecasting, capacity analysis, traffic simulation, and our internationally recognized expertise in traffic safety allows us to provide a complete picture of facility needs.
Preliminary Road Design
iTRANS manages the preliminary design of large-scale facilities, including the design of freeway interchanges. We also develop design solutions sensitive to the corridor environment, balancing community interests with municipal standards and the corridor environment. Our context-oriented designs have included the integration of streetscape design and speed management into road infrastructure.
Traffic Calming
iTRANS has undertaken a number of traffic calming and speed management studies, including design alternatives. Studies have ranged from the development of a town-wide traffic calming policy, development of standard designs, and site-specific speed management and circulation measures.
Transit Infrastructure
iTRANS has completed environmental assessments / functional plans for transitway corridors. Studies have examined alternative transportation strategies, rapid transit technologies, and route alternatives. The design process has included the evaluation and selection of preferred technologies and route options.
